The ground floor entrance (which retains its original iron yett or grille) leads to a small lobby formed within the five-foot thick outer wall. The lobby opens into a barrel-vaulted ground floor chamber, which houses a boot or drying room, off which is a lavatory and a shower room. A stone stair built in the thickness of the wall ascends to the first floor great hall, which has a flagged floor and open fireplace. The hall now incorporates a fully fitted kitchen and dining area, with units and furniture handmade out of estate timber.
From the hall a wooden turnpike stair winds to the second floor sitting room where the 18th-century stone fireplace and the open fire lend both atmosphere and warmth. High at the top of the Tower under the exposed rafters is the sumptuously decorated double bedroom with a bathroom screened off by a velvet curtain. This room is reached either by the wooden spiral stair or the concealed stone staircase leading out of the sitting room. Garden furniture and barbecue equipment are provided in a secluded area in the nearby arboretum where guests may eat outdoors and savour the unrivalled beauties of the Tweed Valley.
