When you request a brochure or make an online reservation we ask you to provide your name, address, email address and telephone numbers. We may also ask you certain market research questions. This information is collected for several reasons:-
1 We need your email address in order to send you a brochure or to send you confirmation of online reservations and, following payment, confirmation and booking information.
2 We would use your phone number if we needed to contact you urgently (for example, if you had made a mistake entering your email address).
3 We need to provide our housekeepers and keyholders with your details in case they need to contact you urgently (for example, if you were to leave a personal possession at one of our properties).
4 We ask you where you heard about Vivat and use this information to analyse the effectiveness of the various publicity campaigns.
5 We ask you certain market research questions to ensure that we are providing you with the highest standard of customer service.

Information gathered from competitions
Occasionally we run competitions on our site. We may ask for personal information to contact you if necessary (for example, with winner’s notification). You will have the choice of being added to our mailing list. Security
Please note that the site contains a brochure request and reservation service only. The site does not contain the technology needed to encrypt credit card information.
Following confirmation of your online reservation, you will be sent an email requesting that you call Vivat with your credit card information. Please do NOT send your credit card information by email or provide it on the reservation form.
Vivat does not accept responsibility for credit card fraud committed as a result of sending information in an insecure manner.
If you decide to pay for your booking by credit card over the phone, we will pass your credit card details to our bank for authorisation of the transaction and for payment.
Vivat adopts all reasonable security procedures to protect the information you give us.

Data Protection
In the UK we operate and are registered in accordance with data protection legislation. Occasionally we make the names and addresses of our customers available to vetted companies that we feel may be of interest to our customers. If you would prefer not to receive such mailings, please ensure that you tick the relevant box on the brochure request and online reservation forms.
